Abstract

Theft of livestock is the most common theft in Tapung Hilir because the objects of theft are casy to find. This theft raises problems regarding what factors cause someone to commit the crime of theft and how to overcome them, so that to answer this question, a research is needed. This study uses empirical research methods with an analytical approach to law and legislation. Prevention efforts carried out by someone use two efforts. Preventive efforts are carried out in the field of religious education and extracurricular activities in their environment. Repressive efforts are carried out by focusing on law enforcement officers in digging up information on convicts of theft.
