Abstract

This study is motivated by business competition that occurs among business entrepreneurs, especially in the Muslim fashion business at the Sukaramai Trade Center of Pekanbaru city. Islam teaches to apply ethics in business, but some of people ignore it in order to gain more profits. The aim of the study is to investigate the business competition of Muslim fashion at the Sukaramai trade center in Pekanbaru city from the perspective of Islamic business ethics. The subjects of the study are business actors from the Beneliux Style, Cahaya Fashion and A & I Syar'i stores. Meanwhile, the object of the study is the business competition of Muslim fashion at the Sukaramai Trade Center in Pekanbaru city from the perspective of Islamic business ethics. This is a qualitative study. The data sources of the study are from primary and secondary data. The data collection techniques of the study are observation, interviews, documentation. The results of the study show that the business competition of Muslim fashion at the Sukaramai Trade Center of Pekanbaru city is in accordance with the Islamic business ethics, which do not sell haram goods and have sidiq, trustworthiness and honesty in explaining product conditions as well as avoiding usury by not taking large profits, having compassion and the absence of monopoly, having tolerance and brotherhood and giving alms from the sales proceeds obtained, however, there are some business actors who are unfair in setting prices, such as the differences in prices given by sellers to buyers.
