Abstract

Narcotics are substances or drugs derived from plants or non-plants, both synthetic and semisynthetic which can cause a decrease or change in consciousness, reduce pain and can cause dependence. Narcotics crime has been widespread among the middle and lower classes, as well as among minors. In drug trafficking, children are often used as tools by adults to trick the authorities so that they are not suspected by the officers. Narcotics crimes involving children have a negative impact and damage the lives of children as the next generation of the nation. The main problems in this study are What are the Fakror Causes of Narcotics Crimes by Children in the Pasaman Police District, and How are the Efforts to Overcome Narcotics Crimes by Children in the Pasaman Police District. This research when viewed from the type of research can be grouped into Obsevational Research by means of Survey, the author conducts research directly to the research location to obtain the information and data needed in writing this thesis which the author compiles in paragraph form. Survey research is research that takes samples from a population using interviews as the main data collection tool. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the factors causing narcotics crimes by children in the Pasaman police jurisdiction are factors of lack of parental supervision, psychological factors, economic factors, factors of children's social environment. Efforts to overcome narcotics crimes by children in the Pasaman Police jurisdiction are to conduct counseling (prevention) in order to prevent narcotics crimes by children, conduct routine raids to places prone to narcotics distribution and legal efforts (handling), with strict and consistent sanctions to make a deterrent effect on narcotics crimes, and approach community leaders to actively participate in reporting narcotics crimes in the surrounding environment.
