Abstract

Children are assets of the nation and as the next generation of the nation must be protected and their welfare must be guaranteed. In society, a child must be protected from all forms of violence and crime that can endanger the safety of the child. The rise of criminal acts of child molestation is currently a matter of discussion in the community, Sexual abuse is contact interaction between children and adults where the child is used for sexual stimulation by the perpetrator or other people who are in a position to have power or control over the victim. The main problem in this study is what are the factors causing the crime of child molestation in the jurisdiction of Lingga Police Station, and how are efforts to overcome child molestation crimes by Lingga Police. This research can be grouped into Obsevational research by means of a survey, the author conducts research directly to the research location to obtain the information and data needed in writing this thesis which the author compiles in paragraph form. Survey research is research that takes samples from a population using interviews as a basic data collection tool. The results of the study explained that the factors causing the occurrence of criminal acts of child molestation in the Lingga Police Jurisdiction were caused by internal factors and external factors. Internal factors such as sexual disorders or commonly called deviant paraphilia such as the perpetrator having a sexual orientation towards children (pedophilia). While external factors that cause the occurrence of criminal acts of child molestation consist of 6 (six) factors, such as factors such as lack of attention from parents. Efforts that can be made in overcoming obstacles to abuse In a preventive way, this effort is a very important effort because this effort urges the public to be vigilant and the police also take preventive measures in the form of socialization activities.
