Abstract
THE EFFECT OF VARIATION OF TYPES OF SUCTION VALVES ON THE PERFORMANCE OF GASOLINE MOTORS Reza Khadafi Fitkha1, Sehat Abdi Saragih2 Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Islamic University of Riau Jl. Kaharudin Nasution, Km. 11, no. 133, Perhentian Marpoyan, Pekanbaru Email : rezakhadafifitkha@student.uir.ac.id Abstract In this era the use of transportation equipment has greatly increased, especially the use of motorbikes. The increase in motorized vehicles was accompanied by an increase in individual needs to further improve the performance of these motorized vehicle engines. So it demands to think about how to fulfill and improve vehicle performance to the maximum. In this case the expected performance is to meet the needs of vehicle users who are very focused on the performance of gasoline engines. In the performance of gasoline motors, the valve is one of the things that greatly influences the performance of gasoline engines in the form of torque, power, thermal efficiency, and fuel use. The tools used to conduct this research are dynotest, blower, tachometer, dial indicator, tool set, feeler gauge. From the research results, there is an influence of the suction valve on the performance of gasoline motors. . In this study I used an experimental method with a valve diameter of 22.5 cm (Standard), 23 cm (Racing), 24 cm (Racing Gf). The results of the study show that the largest torque is obtained from the suction valve with a diameter of 24 cm (racing Gf) with the highest torque value of 22.98 Nm, the greatest yield power is obtained from the Power valve (Racing Gf) with the highest power value of 8 Hp, at use of fuel (Racing Gf) with the largest fuel consumption of 1.97 mL, and the highest Thermal Efficiency is found in (Racing Gf) with the highest efficiency value of 22.67%.Gasoline Motors, Valves, Performance
