Abstract

Extracurricular activities are activities that take place both inside and outside the classroom with the aim of increasing students' knowledge, skills and insight and helping to shape their personalities according to their individual interests and talents. There are various extracurriculars available at school, and badminton is a popular sport in Indonesia.This research uses descriptive research as its main research method because it aims to create a systematic, factual and accurate description, picture or description of the facts, characteristics and relationships of the phenomena being investigated. In descriptive research, real, realistic, tangible and contemporary things are described. Meanwhile, it uses quantitative because it uses numbers, starting from data collection, interpretation of the data, as well as the appearance of the results in four categories of player scores that show strong movement in basic short service technical abilities as many as 2 MAN 1 Dumai extracurricular students reached the sufficient category, the percentage reached 11% with The average value is 41.72 with a minimum value of 14, a maximum of 58 and a standard deviation of 15.76. Meanwhile, for the clear test ability, 7 extracurricular students at MAN 1 Dumai achieved the adequate category, the percentage reached 39% with an average score of 50.06 with a minimum score of 30, a maximum of 65 and a standard deviation of 10.11. Meanwhile, for the wall volleyball test ability, 7 extracurricular students at MAN 1 Dumai achieved the adequate category, the percentage reached 33% with an average score of 12.67 with a minimum score of 6, a maximum of 20 and a standard deviation of 3.76. Meanwhile, for long service ability, 9 MAN 1 Dumai extracurricular students achieved the sufficient category, the percentage reached 50% with an average of 11.94 with a minimum of 2, a maximum of 28 and a standard deviation of 7.04. From this research, it can be concluded that the level of technical ability The basics of badminton for MAN 1 Dumai extracurricular students can be scored as poor, this is in line with the tests and data obtained in each test carried out.
