Abstract
Income affects household expenditure patterns, the size of income allocated for food and non-food expenditure will affect the level of community welfare. This study aims to: (1) Describe the food and non-food expenditures of Kampar Regency households, (2) Analyze the factors that influence Kampar Regency household expenditures, (3) Analyze the level of welfare of the people of Kampar Regency. This study uses a literature study that examines data from related agencies. The type of data used in this research is secondary data. Descriptive statistical analysis to answer food and non-food expenditures, and the level of welfare of the people of Kampar Regency. Meanwhile, the factors that influence household expenditure are analyzed using Inferential Statistics with multiple linear regression, the data used is time series data for 2000-2021. The results of the study: (1) the average food expenditure was 56.42% greater than non-food expenditure (43.58%), the largest food expenditure was in the prepared food and beverage group of 24.45% and the highest non-food expenditure namely housing and household facilities by 52.03%. (2) The factors that influence household expenditure in Kampar Regency are GRDP, average length of schooling, inflation, and savings with the results of multiple linear regression analysis, that is, all independent variables partially and simultaneously have a significant effect on household expenditure, except for inflation and savings with a partial test. did not have a significant effect on household expenditure in Kampar Regency. (3) The people of Kampar Regency are said to be not prosperous based on the welfare level analysis of Engel's Law and are classified as prosperous on the welfare level analysis based on per capita income, then prosperous with a population welfare level of 78,000 people/km², education reaching 30.51% (high school graduates), and the level of welfare of the workforce reached 63.05% (work force) and 60.38% in status (Working).
