Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of interest andmotivation of class XI students who took part in PJOK learning at SMA Negeri 3Mandau. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population of thisstudy was class XI SMA Negeri 3 Mandau, totaling 200 students. The sample technique used is quota sampling with a total of 40 female students. Interest indicators in the questionnaire are divided into 4 indicators, namely: 1) attention, 2) feelings of pleasure, 3) involvement, and 4) interest. Meanwhile, the motivational indicators of the questionnaire are divided into 6 indicators, namely: 1) there is a desire and desire to succeed, 2) there is encouragement and need in learning, 3) there are hopes and aspirations for the future, 4) there is appreciation in learning, 5) there is an environment conducive learning, 6) the existence of an interesting desire in learning. The number of initial questions designed for the interest questionnaire was 24 statement items and after being tested for validity it became 16 statement items. While the initial number of questions designed for the motivational questionnaire consisted of 36 statement items and after being tested for validity there were 24 statement items. The results of this study are the interest and motivation of class XI students in participating in PJOK learning activities at SMA Negeri 3 Mandau with an average interest of 81.19% and an average motivation of 79.2% in the good category.
