Abstract

Pellet machine is a machine for making pellets using a screw mechanism to push the material out through a disc that has small holes on the surface. In this design the shaft power, shaft force, shaft rotation and production capacity will be calculated. This design aims to make it easier for manufacturers to operate and can increase the quantity of fish pellet making machines. In this study designed a machine for making fish pellets on an electric motor as the prime mover with 1 HP and 1400 rpm rotation. The results of the design are that the power that is driven is 0.92 HP with a rotation of 1900 rpm and the results of the production capacity of the fish pellet making machine are obtained at 46.15 kg/hour and a production efficiency of 98%.
