Abstract

Gambling in this world will not be eliminated, including gambling carried out by people in Kandis to get money instantly. The problem of crime will always follow and accompany human civilization. Human efforts are only limited to preventing and overcoming gambling. According to the legal view, gambling will always exist because of economic pressure so that you can get money instantly and easily without having to work hard. This gambling is regulated in Articles 303 and 303 bis of the Criminal Code. In handling gambling cases, the police can play a role by arresting perpetrators of gambling cases, both players and bookies, and handing over the cases to court so that they can be punished by being charged under Articles of the criminal law. The problems in this research are: First, what are the Police's Efforts to Tackle the Crime of Gelper Gambling in the Legal Area of the Kandis Police and What Factors Influence the Occurrence of the Crime of Gelper Gambling in the Legal Area of the Kandis Police. This research uses an empirical sociological legal research method, namely by conducting direct interviews with respondents or data sources at the research location which is descriptive analysis, namely research that collects data by going directly to the field by looking at the existing reality and common sense. The results of this research conclude that: First, the Police's efforts to tackle the crime of gambling in the Kandis Police District are carried out using several efforts, namely pre-emptive efforts, preventive efforts and repressive efforts. Second, the factors that influence the occurrence of the crime of gambling in the Kandis Police jurisdiction are: habitual factors, weak implementation of religious teachings, environmental factors, economic factors, and weak law enforcement factors.
