Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model type think pair share (TPS) on mathematical reasoning ability of students in grade IX SMP Negeri 34 Pekanbaru. This research is a quasi experimental design research with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study were all class IX students of SMP Negeri 34 Pekanbaru with samples IX1 as the control class and IX2 as the experimental class. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data collection techniques are test techniques and data collection instruments, namely using pretest and posttest. The test results are analyzed to see students' mathematical reasoning abilities through descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Based on the t-test analysis, it shows that ??????= 2.98 ? ?????? = 1.66, which means ?????? > ?????? then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Think Pair Share (TPS) type cooperative learning model on mathematical reasoning abilities Grade IX SMP.
