Abstract
This research was carried out for 14 days starting in December 2021 at the Laboratory of Fish Seed Center, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru. This study aimed to determine the duration of soaking turmeric ethanol extract for the treatment of fungal infection Saprolegnia sp in catfish fry and to determine the survival rate of catfish fry infected with the fungus Saprolegnia sp. The materials used for this study were 150 catfish seeds (10 fish/container), an average length of 7 cm/head and a weight of 5 g/head, 95% ethanol solvent, turmeric extraction, Saprolegnia sp mushroom from fish eggs. unfertilized catfish, and pellets of PF 500. The method used in this study was an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments with 3 replications, namely (P1) immersion time of 1 hour, (P2) immersion time of 2 hours, (P2) P3) immersion time is 3 hours, (P4) immersion time is 4 hours and (P5) immersion time is 5 hours. The results showed that the best healing time was in treatment P5, with a healing time of 6 days and the best survival was found in treatment P1, which was 90%. The results of water quality measurements in this research medium, water temperature ranged from 28-30 C, pH 7-8, dissolved oxygen 4.0-4.4 mg/l and ammonia (NH3) ranged from 0.08-0.82 mg /l.
