Abstract

Mathematics Education Study Program. FKIP Riau Islamic University Main Advisor : Prof. Dr. Hj. Zetriuslita, S.Pd., M.Si ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the effect of the Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) learning model on the mathematical problem solving abilities of class X students of SMA Negeri 3 Pekanbaru. This research is a quasi-experimental research (Quasi Experimental) with a Nonequivalent Control Group research design and the sampling technique used is purposive sampling. This research starts from 07 August 2023 to 13 September 2023. In this study two classes were used, namely class X.8 as an experimental class with Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) model learning and class X.7 as a control class with conventional learning. The data collection technique in this research was carried out using test techniques. Data were analyzed using the normality test, homogeneity test, and independent sample t-test (t-test). Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) learning model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The significant value obtained was 0.031<? (0.05), which means that ?0 was rejected and ?1 was accepted. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) learning model on the mathematical problem solving abilities of class X students of SMA Negeri 3 Pekanbaru.
