Abstract

The potential for ornamental plant enthusiasts or markets in Rimbo Panjang Village is quite large, considering the increasing number of housing, offices that exist and their access close to Pekanbaru City, the problems that farmers often encounter are such as fairly tight competition and ornamental plants are a commodity that will be crowded during the season (there are certain seasons). This study aims to analyze: (1) farmer characteristics and business profiles of ornamental plants (Rose, Jasmine, Aglonema). (2) the use of production factors, costs, production, income and business efficiency of ornamental plants and (3) marketing of ornamental plants. This research was carried out for 6 months starting from March 2022 to August 2022 in the Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency. The census sampling technique. The sample in this study were 13 people. Data were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed (1) ornamental plant farmers in Rimbo Panjang Village had an average age of 34 years, high school education, 3 family members, and 5 years of farming experience. Business profile: the business scale is micro scale, the source of capital is own capital, and uses family labor. (2) Land use for the ornamental plant business averages 184.31 M2, rose seedlings 538 polybags per month, jasmine 373 polybags per month and aglonema 288 pots per month. NPK and Beauty fertilizers 2.54 kg per month, Pesrtisda Lannate 123 grams per month, Castrol 57 grams per month and Steady 1.58 liters per month. Ornamental plant business with variable costs Rp. 23,632,230.77 per month (rose Rp. 3,008,115.38/month, jasmine Rp. 850,615.38/month and aglonema Rp. 19,773,500.00), fixed costs Rp. 10,083.01 per month (rose, jasmine and aglonema each IDR 3,361.00) and a total cost of IDR 23,642,313.78 per month. Rose production is 498 polybags per month, Melati 337 polybags per month and Aglonema 260 pots per month. Gross income Rp. 50,223,077 per month (Rose Rp. 7,476,923 per month, Melati Rp. 1,684,615 per month and Aglonema Rp. 41,061,538 per month), net income Rp. 27,045,379 per month (Rose Rp. .4,620,318 per month, Melati Rp.985,511 per month and Aglonema Rp.21,439,549 per month). RCR of roses 2.48, jasmine 1.97, aglonema 2.08 > 1, this shows that ornamental plant farming is efficient and feasible to cultivate. (3) Ornamental plant marketing does not only sell offline, farmers also sell to the Pekanbaru City area and even online which reaches outside the province.
