Abstract
Theft is an unlawful act in which the act of taking the rights to another person's property by force or without being forced secretly so that this action can result in losses to the victim due to the act of taking another person's rights. The crime of theft itself often occurs in Indonesia, one of which is the crime of motorbike theft or what is often known as sepakor. Motorbike theft in the Criminal Code is categorized as a type of crime with aggravation because it is usually committed at night or carried out together. As is the case with motorbike theft in the jurisdiction of the Kampar Sector Police. However, from 2020 to 2022 the Kampar Sector Police were successful in dealing with motorbike theft cases in their jurisdiction so that they could become a reference and role model for other police in Indonesia. The main problem in this research is how the police try to deal with motorbike theft in the jurisdiction of the Kampar Sector Police and what factors are the success of the police in dealing with motorbike theft in the jurisdiction of the Kampar Sector Police. The research carried out is an empirical legal research method using research or field observations by surveying directly into the field, to collect primary data and secondary data obtained from respondents through interviews to be used as data or information as material for writing this research. Based on the research results, it can be understood that the Kampar Sector Police have carried out various countermeasures against the crime of motorbike theft, such as pre-emptive, preventive and repressive efforts. The countermeasures carried out by the Kampar Sector Police against the crime of motorbike theft were successful because they were supported by several factors, namely supporting facilities and infrastructure factors, and community environmental factors that supported law enforcement for the crime of motorbike theft.
