Abstract
The existence of foreign workers is one that brings in capital as investors and skilled workers, but the arrival of foreign workers is one of the main problems in the field of employment. From abuse of residence. overstay. To control delling problems, immigration officers have an important role in controlling, because this control will provide security for jobs and people in Pekanbaru. Based on these problems, there are 2 (two) main problems in this study. First, how is the supervision of immigration in Pekanbaru City regarding residence permits for foreign workers based on Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. Second, What are the Obstacles to Immigration Supervision of Pekanbaru City Against Stay Permits for Foreign Workers Based on Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. This research is included in the normative juridical and empirical juridical research groups. The normative juridical approach is legal research that places law as a building system of norms. Empirical juridical research is research that has an object of study regarding Immigration Control of Foreign Worker Stay Permits by the Pekanbaru Class I Immigration Office Based on Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. Research result. First, to be able to stay in Indonesia foreigners or foreign workers (TKA) must have a residence permit, which is issued by the Indonesian government through the Immigration office. There are two residence permits, namely Limited Stay Permits (ITAS) and Permanent Stay Permits. A residence permit is a permit granted to foreigners by immigration officials or foreign service officials to be in Indonesian territory. Meanwhile, a permanent residence permit is a permit granted to certain foreigners to reside and settle in Indonesian territory as Indonesian residents. For foreign workers themselves, namely using a limited stay permit to work. Limited stay visas are issued to foreigners, namely clergy, experts, workers, students, investors, the elderly and their families as well as foreigners who are legally married to Indonesian citizens (WNI).
