Abstract

The background of this research is the not optimal development of Karang Taruna Community Institutions by the Head of Sungai Sagu Village, Lirik District, Indragiri Hulu Regency in carrying out his duties as Karang Taruna Trustees. This can be proven by the absence of an increase in the ability of Karang Taruna members so that the Village Head is seen as necessary to carry out coaching. The purpose of this study was to find out the Youth Organization Development carried out by the Head of Sungai Sagu Village, Lirik District and to find out the Inhibiting Factors in the Youth Organization Development by the Head of Sungai Sagu Village, Lirik District. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The formulation of the problem in this study is as follows, How is the Karang Taruna fostered by the Head of Sungai Sagu Village, Lirik District?, What are the obstacles faced by the Village Head in fostering Youth Organizations in Sungai Sagu Village, Lirik District?. The results showed that the guidance provided by the village head to youth organizations was not optimal. The village head does not yet have a planned training schedule, the youth organization does not hold regular meetings. Obstacles faced by the village head are that the village head has not been able to utilize his free time for regular meetings, the village head has not socialized the work program.
