Abstract

ANALYSIS OF ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMP OPTIMIZATION HANDLING AND GAS LOCK HANDLING MITIGATION IN GASSY RESERVOIR USING PROSPER SOFTWARE SIMULATION EWINSYAH NPM 183210764 ABSTRACT Gas lock is defined as an event where the fluid flow problem is blocked by the gas phase and inhibits the production flow rate. This is due to the release of the free gas phase in oil that has a high gas oil ratio (GOR) value. This condition occurs when the pump intake pressure (PIP) or fluid over pump (FOP) is smaller than the oil bubble point pressure (Pb). Initial indications of free gas formation can be seen from erratic on the amp-chart, high annulus pressure, and the pump operating below its efficiency. In this final project, the researcher used case studies on two production wells in on (producing) well conditions with high GOR values of 100 Mscf/day and 110 Mscf/day, well design rates of 850 BFPD and 1013 BFPD, and PIP of dissolved above the well's bubble point pressure (Pb) is 150 psi and 100 psi. From the results of data processing, the pump motor was replaced in the M well with an optimum production flow rate with a value of 1600 STB/day and a change in pump type, an optimal production flow rate was obtained with a value of 1300 STB/day so that the Prosper software simulation results obtained an increase the PIP value of the M well is 177 psi and the N well is 117 psi so as to keep the PIP above Pb so as to minimize the release of free gas from oil, combined with the installation of a gas separator so that free gas does not enter the pump.Gas Lock, Pump Intake Pressure, Gas Separator, Fluid Above Pump, Gas Oil Ratio.
