Abstract

This research was done to find out what problems were in the field during the course of school studies of this research was to know, how the student's character education in the art lesson in SMAN 01 Tapung Hilir. This research is a qualitative study that uses descriptive methods. Investigating character value on students through learning the art of sub-art art music in the SMAN 01 Tapung Hilir is done with a value approach, approach clarifying the value, Cognitive progress approach, and lessons approach through development both terror and practice in the form of fiery activity, Creation, and expression.The material delivered by a teacher of sub-matter culture the art of music developed according to relationship and contextual meaning and its benefits in everyday life. The process is using group methods. Learning involves active participation of students, requires a cooperative learning method (group) is a learning involving students working in groups to set common goals.
