Abstract

Crime prevention is a response that focuses more on repressive nature, namely actions taken after a crime has occurred with law enforcement and a crime prevention process that is useful for our minimizing incidents or criminal acts so that the crime does not happen again. The main problem that will be discussed in writing this thesis, namely how are the efforts of the Bukit Raya police to deal with cases of domestic violence and what are the obstacles of the Bukit Raya Police in tackling criminal acts of domestic violence in the jurisdiction of the Bukit Raya Police. In this study the authors used empirical legal research methods, which means the experience of someone. By conducting fieldwork and interviewing respondents, namely the criminal investigation unit of Bukit Raya Police and perpetrators of domestic violence. The factors that cause perpetrators to commit crimes of domestic violence are due to two internal factors and external factors. Internal factors concern the personality of the perpetrator of violence which makes it easy for him to commit acts of violence when faced with a situation that causes anger or frustration. While external factors are factors outside the perpetrators of violence, for example, economic difficulties, infidelity, drug abused and so on. Deviations from values and norms occur.
