Abstract

Basically the authors conducted this research to determine the role of the Djoeragan martabak franchise in absorbing labor in Pekanbaru City and the level of welfare of workers from the Djoeragan martabak franchise in Pekanbaru City. This study uses a qualitative approach. The population of this study were all branches of Martabak Djoeragan in Pekanbaru City. Sampling was done by cluster (cluster random sampling) with a total of 12 outlets of Martabak Djoeragan. Data collection techniques were carried out by questionnaires, observation and interviews. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The results showed that the role of the Djoeragan martabak franchise in absorbing labor in Pekanbaru City was carried out in the form of providing training to increase sales, including providing knowledge about the franchise business and selling strategies for Djoeragan's martabak products. The level of welfare of the workforce from the Djoeragan martabak franchise is getting better compared to before being involved in the Djoeragan martabak franchise. The increase in income felt by Djoeragan's martabak franchise workers reached a percentage of 66.67% above the KHL or experienced an increase of eight people from the 12 people who were the subjects in this study.
