Abstract
LABORATORY STUDY OF THE IMPACT OF ADDITIVE CMC JAVA SEED ADDITIVE ON VALUE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH, THICKENING TIME, AND FILTRATION LOSS IN DRILLING CEMENT RIDHONI NOVIDRIA NPM 173219621 ABSTRACT The cementing process is very important in oil and gas drilling operations, the quality of cement required in cementing operations must be strong and sturdy so that the casing does not collapse due to pressure from the formation walls. One of the main problems that often occur when cementing is compressive strength, thickening time and filtration loss. To overcome this problem by using CMC additives, because CMC can increase compressive strength, speed up/slow down thickening time, and reduce filtration loss, this research uses CMC additives derived from agricultural waste, namely tamarind seeds because the price is more affordable and also environmentally friendly, Tamarind contains cellulose so it can be used as an ingredient in CMC. Then the CMC from the tamarind seeds was added to the cement slurry through analysis in the laboratory with concentrations of 2, 4, 6 and 8 grams. The results of this test obtained the highest compressive strength value at a concentration of 8 grams using CMC Tamarind Seed 1783.74 Psi, Industrial CMC 1686.65 Psi, for the thickening time value obtained CMC Tamarind Seed 136 minutes, Industrial CMC 143 minutes, while the value of filtration loss which was the lowest with the addition of Industrial CMC 58,206 ml/minute, CMC Tamarind Seeds 70,013 ml/minute.Compressive Strength, Thickening Time, Filtration Loss, Tamarind Seed, Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Class G Cement.
