Abstract

The reason victims of sexual violence cases are not reported to law enforcement for legal processing is due to several factors, including the victim's shame and the desire that the shame they suffer will not be passed on to other people, or the victim's fear. because the perpetrator threatened to kill him if he reported the incident to the police. This of course affects the mental/psychological development of the victim and also influences the prosecution process itself to create a sense of justice for the victim and society. The purpose of this research is to find out the implementation of social security based on law, to know the implementation of legal protection for victims of sexual abuse cases against children and to find out the obstacles to the implementation of legal protection for children in the jurisdiction. This type of research is empirical research. The research location was carried out in Bagan Sinembah District. This study was carried out using data collection tools, namely: literature study or document study (documentary study), collecting secondary data related to the problems mentioned and reviewing books, legal journals, research results and legal documents. In this research, the author uses qualitative analysis to describe and compile rules which are then analyzed using qualitative methods to make conclusions using the elimination method which provides general conclusions about the problem and research objectives Based on the results of research conducted on Legal Protection for Child Victims of Sexual Abuse in Bagan Sinembah District, it is known that there is still a lack of legal protection in Bagan Sinembah District for victims of sexual harassment cases due to the lack of complaints about sexual harassment cases going to court because the victim's family tends to choose the peaceful path. with peace money. Barriers to implementing legal protection for children occur due to lack of education, lack of assistance when in court, lack of parental control over children's interactions, and lack of complaints.
