Abstract

EFFORTS TO PRESERVE LANCANG RITUALS IN PENIPAHAN VILLAGE, ROKAN HILIR DISTRICT VERA NPM:196710835 Thesis of the Sendratasik Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Riau Islamic University. Supervisor Syefriani, S.Pd., M.Pd ABSTRACT In general, this researcher aims to find out how efforts are made to preserve the sassy ritual in Penipahan Village, Pasir Limau Kapas District, Rokan Hilir Regency. The theory that researchers use is according to Sedyawati (2008: 280) Preservation is something that must be maintained so that a balance is always maintained between continuity and change, in such a way that national or ethnic identity always appears clearly and is not drowned out by certain foreign influences. . Sedyawati (2008: 152) states that conservation is seen as something that consists of three aspects, namely (1) protection, (2) development, and (3) utilization. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis, with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interview and documentation data collection techniques. The results of this research conclude that the researchers can conclude that the cultural traditions of this Sassy ritual culture continue to be maintained or protected because to this day they are still frequently used and displayed, plus the adaqqnaya process of passing this on to future generations means that this art continues to be protected. development efforts carried out by the local community to preserve the cultural traditions of the Lancang Ritual. Where it is explained that previously this tradition was only used for healing processions by the local community, but in order to maintain this culture, the local community is trying to develop this tradition so that it can be watched by the wider community and also the local community so as not to forget the culture that has existed since ancient times. This. Efforts to utilize the local community to preserve this tradition are still ongoing. With performances put on by local arts activists. Previously, this art was only used for treatment, but now due to the rise of a new, more modern generation, this Lancang ritual can be seen by the wider community as a tradition found in Penipahan Village, Rokan Hilir Regency.
