Abstract
Household Expenditure of Oil Palm Farmers in Karya Mulya Village, Rambah Samo Subdistrict, Rokan Hulu Regency under the guidance of Dr. Ir. Saipul Bahri, M.Ec. Household expenditure is one indicator that can provide an overview of people's income levels. The purpose of this study was to analyze: (1) The characteristics of the households of oil palm farmers. (2) Oil palm household income structure. (3) Palm oil farmer household consumption expenditure. (4) Analyze the factors that influence household consumption expenditure of oil palm smallholders. (5) The level of welfare of the oil palm smallholder household. This study used a survey method in Karya Mulya Village, Rambah Samo District, Rokan Hulu Regency. Sampling was used with the proportional stratified random sampling method, totaling 38 people. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis, multiple linear regression and Development of Income Structure (PSP), Farmer Expenditure Share (PEP), Farmer Household Purchasing Power (DBRP), Subsistence Exchange Rate (NTS), and Farmer Household Income Exchange Rate ( NTPRP). The results of the study showed (1) the average age of farmers was still productive, the last education of farmers was generally 11 years (did not finish high school), the number of family members was 4 people, 10 years of farming experience and 3 Ha of oil palm land. (2) household income of oil palm farmers consists of oil palm farming income of Rp. 5,473,042/month and non-oil palm farming Rp. 2,049,474/month. (3) Household expenditure consists of food consumption of Rp. 1,738,563/month and non-food consumption of Rp. 2,679,618/month. (4) The dominant factors for household expenditure of oil palm farmers are household income, number of family members and savings. (5) the level of welfare of farmers is measured from PSP as much as 85.67% of income from the agricultural sector, PEP is 39,35% smaller than the percentage of non-food expenditure, DBRP of good farmers is 3.08%, NTS of farmers is 116.51 % and NTPRP of 1.18 which means that households in Karya Mulya Village are prosperous.
