Abstract

Feasibility Analysis of Sauqia Broiler Chicken Farming Business in Alahan Village, Rokan IV Koto District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. Guidance by Dr. Azharuddin M Amin, M.Sc. The broiler chicken farming business requires a fairly high investment cost so that a very detailed and measurable analysis through planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring in management is needed in order to generate high profits. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a feasibility analysis to see whether the broiler chicken farming business is feasible or not to run. This study aims to analyze: 1) Characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profiles, 2) Non-financial feasibility of business, 3) Financial feasibility of business and 4) Business sensitivity. The method used in this study is a case study method in the Sauqia broiler chicken farming business in Alahan Village, Rokan IV Koto District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. This research was carried out for six months starting from July 2022 to December 2022. The respondents in this study were employers and one labor person. The data types used are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative descriptive analysis to analyze non-financial aspects (market and marketing, technical and production, human resources, legal, and environmental aspects) and quantitative to analyze financial aspects through four investment criteria (NPV, Net B/C, IRR, and Payback Period) as well as sensitivity analysis with a Switching Value approach. The results showed that the characteristics of entrepreneurs are in the productive age group with an age of 35 years old, education level for 16 years, a business experience of 4 years and a total of family numbers was 3 persons. The Sauqia broiler chicken farming business was classified as a small- scale business, using borrowed capital and using 1 person's labor. Non-financial feasibility shows that based on market and marketing, technical and production aspects, human resources, legal as well as the business environment of the Sauqia broiler chicken farm was feasible. Furthermore, the results of the financial feasibility analysis show that the Sauqia broiler chicken farming business is also feasible to run because it has met 4 profitable investment criteria with an NPV value of Rp. 898.611.236 > 0, Net B/C worth 5.87 > 1, IRR worth 53% > i (6%), and Payback Period for 2 years 1 month 9 days. Based on the results of sensitivity analysis using the Switching Value method, the Sauqia broiler chicken farming business was more sensitive to the increase in DOC and feed input prices worth 5.70% which results in a decrease in NPV worth 93.96% of the base value.
