Abstract

Ideally, the working area contract for a block for exploration and exploitation is 25-30 years. If the contract time has expired, the contractor can apply for a contract extension. The government as the owner of the work area through SKK Migas will then assess whether the contract extension proposed by the contractor is economically valuable and meets the requirements. The CPP block itself with a working area of 9,865.95 km2 is located in Riau Province, covering Siak, Bengkalis, Kampar and Rokan Hulu regencies which will expire in August 2022, therefore it is necessary to carry out an analysis to compare the economics of the Coastal Plains and Pekanbaru by using the PSC Cost Recovery Contract method and the PSC Gross Split Contract. The research was conducted using a field study or case study method.The method used is PSC Cost Recovery and PSC Gross Split production sharing method to determine the feasibility of the Coastal Plain and Pekanbaru blocks. The economic parameters to be calculated are Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate Of Return (IRR), and also Pay Out Time (POT).From the results of the analysis and economic calculations that have been carried out, it can be seen that contracts with the Gross Split system are still more profitable than the PSC cost recovery system for contract renewal for the CPP Block. By looking at the NPV, IRR, and POT values obtained using the PSC Cost Recovery contract, which is 142,004,631.4 MMU$, 68% and 4.1 years. While the NPV, IRR and POT values obtained using the Gross Split contract are 220,624,654.6 MMUS$, N/A%, and 0 Years
