Abstract
COMPARISON OF RADIAL REGULAR GRID AND RADIAL NORMAL GRID MODELING IN ASP FLOODING IN CARBONATE RESERVOIR USING CMG GEM SIMULATOR 2020 RONA SAVRIZON 163210579 ABSTRACT Alkali-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) is a promising method for increasing Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) since 1990. The ASP method is based on the mechanism of decreasing Interfacial Tension (IFT) or interfacial tension in oil and water fluids, and changing the wettability to a state water wet. ASP involves injection of surfactant, alkali and polymer solutions into a reservoir. surfactants and alkalis form emulsions with oil, while polymers increase the efficiency of wiping. ASP recovery rate can be up to 45%. Therefore, a comparative study was carried out on grid models in reservoir simulations using CMG-GEM 2020 to see the profile and determine the performance of each model in obtaining cumulative oil production. With the support of reservoir data quality and simulation results that provide a temporary visualization of the condition of the reservoir in the hope of optimizing the performance of the reservoir system. This research began with modeling of carbonate reservoirs and injection fluids, including alkylbenzene sulfonate (ABS) for surfactants, sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) for alkalis, hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) for polymers. The results of this experiment show that the influence of the number of injection wells and the concentration of alkali is very influential in increasing the cumulative value of oil production. It can be seen from the RR 4 WI scenario that the highest increase in the cumulative value of oil production is shown in Figure 4.3 which shows that the regular grid 4 radial injection well with an alkali concentration of 0.5 wt%, 0.27wt% surfactant and 0.135wt% polymer gives yields cumulative oil is around 293537.875 bbl compared to other scenarios.Enhanced oil recovery, Alkali Surfactant Polymer, radial grid model.
