Abstract

The legal problems in this study are based on the existence of antinomy in th existence of law enforcement officials (structure) and various legal norms & policies (substance) which are intended as a mechanism for preventing & countering narcotics crimes through criminal law enforcement means, but on th other hand there is a significant increasing trend related to narcotics abuse and circulation which increases every year. This can have an integral impact in the form of overcrowding of prisons/prisons which can have a follow-up effect related t ineffective coaching programs, especially at the location of this research at th Bengkalis Police Narcotics Task Force. The main problem in this study is divided into two, namely the first is how effective is the law enforcement of narcotics crimes carried out by the Bengkali Police Narcotics Task Force. The second is how projections can be offered for th effectiveness of the law enforcement mechanism for narcotics crimes by th Bengkalis Police Narcotics Task Force in the future. The method used in this study is an empirical legal research method considering that the main data used in this study is primary data. The approach method used is to directly go into the field and conduct an interview session. Thi research is descriptive, namely providing an overview and describing in a real and clear manner related to the problems in this study. From the results of the research and discussion, it is known that the first related t the effectiveness of law enforcement carried out is inadequate due to several factors namely the lack of personnel in the field, adequate facilities and tools, insufficien budget, and the existence of natural and weather factors. The second is th projection offered in the future by conducting counseling and socialization t various villages and schools, disclosing cases, prevention, and continuing to improve the Task Force for the Prevention and Eradication of Narcotics Abuse and Illicit Circulation (P4GN).
