Abstract
Students who are able to be selective in choosing the right peers will form a high self concept, but if not it will have an impact on decreasing self concept. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between peer influence and self concept in students of SMAN 1 Kandis. The sample in this study was 242 students of SMAN 1 Kandis, which was determined using a simple random sampling technique. The data collection method in this study is using a peer influence scale arranged based on aspects proposed by Santrock (2006) as many as 10 items and a self concept scale compiled based on aspects proposed by Calhoun Acocella (in Ghufron 2012) as many as 28 items. The results of statistical analysis with the Pearson's product moment correlation test showed that there was a significant positive relationship between peer influence and self concept in students of SMAN 1 Kandis, with an r value of 5,411 and a sig score. 0.000. This means that the higher the influence of peers in learning, the higher the self concept in students of SMAN 1 Kandis.
