Abstract

STUDY OF ANALYSIS OF INTEGRATED PARKING NEEDS IN SUDIRMAN STREET, PEKANBARU CITY AT THE T-junction SEGMENT OF PANGERAN HIDAYAT ROAD TO BANK MANDIRI The number of vehicles in the city of Pekanbaru always increases every year. The increasing number of these vehicles can affect the traffic volume which becomes higher so that it can result in traffic density on the streets of Pekanbaru City. The impact of the increasing number of vehicles will get worse if the road body is used for parking (on street parking) there will be an imbalance between the number of vehicles and the width of the road because parking on the road body makes use of the road body thereby reducing the width of the road which can result in traffic jams such as on Jalan Jendral Sudirman, Pekanbaru City, at the Prince Hidayat T-junction segment to Bank Mandiri. One solution to overcome this imbalance is to move the parking lot to a special place that does not interfere with the flow of road traffic. The purpose of this research is to find out the need for integrated parking spaces in the parking area on Jalan Jendral Sudirman, Pekanbaru City, in the Prince Hidayat T-junction segment to Bank Mandiri. The research method used is based on guidelines for planning and operating parking facilities, Directorate General of Land Transportation (1998) and parking characteristic calculations. The research was conducted from 21 to 22 November 2022 and then resumed from 26 to 27 November 2022 from 08.00 – 22.00 WIB. The results of the analysis show that the total need for parking on Jalan Jendral Sudirman, to be precise at the Prince Hidayat T-junction segment to Bank Mandiri, is currently 559 SRP, where the available capacity or SRP is 268 SRP for two-wheeled vehicles and 188 SRP for four-wheeled vehicles. When compared with the amount of available parking capacity on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in the Prince Hidayat to Bank Mandiri road junction segment, it is found that the need for parking is greater than the availability of parking spaces or the number of SRPs in the field on Jendral Sudirman road in the Prince Hidayat to Bank Mandiri junction segment so that many people who shop do not place their vehicles outside the available parking zone.
