Abstract
Many people don't know what waste is? In the language of waste means waste, but in the meaning of waste in question is a waste on activities that do not add value. The purpose of this study is to identify what are the types and causes of waste non solid/waste time and implementation of Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to minimize waste non solid/waste time on the project of building lectures and prodi Polytechnic Health Ministry of Riau. To achieve the objectives of the study, will be the application of lean construction with value stream mapping method. Then performed the recording and data collection on the project of building lectures and prodi Polytechnic Health Ministry of Riau, on the work sloof and column basement floor. Project activity is a process that takes a long time, a lot of energy and also a lot of materials. However, there are often problems in construction projects that can cause project targets not to be achieved, namely quality, cost and time targets. In this research, the waste used is non-physical waste / non-solid waste, waste whose physique does not appear in the field or waste time. Based on its form, waste material can be categorized into two parts, namely Physical waste / waste solid and Non physical waste / waste non solid. The types and causes of this study are an adoption of the research of Womeck & Jones (1996) with updates and additions from the research of A.C. Mudzakir, et al (2017). The results showed that the type of non-value adding activity that often occurs is waiting (W5), which is waiting for workers, while the cause of nonvalue adding activity that often occurs is managerial (B3), namely the lack of control by contractors over the implementation of work in the field and resources (D6), namely the lack of field personnel from contractors). Based on the VSM results, 64,90% of the identified VAA results were obtained, 3,38% of the identified NVAANs and 31,72% of the identified NVAAUs were identified.
