Abstract
THE EFFECT OF SANITATION SYSTEMS ON QUALITY SHALLOW WELL WATER IN HOUSING TYPE SMALL IN PEKANBARU CITY NINIK NILA SAPUTRI 183110480 ABSTRACT Pekanbaru has many small housing types with a land area which is generally less than 90 m2. Due to the limited area, the wells were made without considering the distance between the septic tank and the well. The majority of small-type housing uses dug wells to meet their daily needs such as cooking, drinking and toileting. Including Griya Sepakat Asri Housing, Berdikari Asri Housing, and Widya Graha 1 Housing. The condition of the well water in the housing is colored and smells. This study aims to determine the characteristics of shallow well water quality in small-type housing in Pekanbaru City and the distance between septic tanks and latrines on shallow well water quality. The samples taken in this study were calculated using the slovin formula. This water sampling technique was carried out by a purposive sampling process. The sample in this study used a questionnaire totaling 57 for 3 housing. Laboratory sample collection and testing for each housing sample represented 3 samples with a total sample of 9 samples, namely physical parameters (color, smell and taste), chemical parameters (Fe, Mn, and BOD). The sanitation system affects the quality of shallow well water, based on Permenkes no. 32 of 2017 and Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 82 of 2001. Griya Sepakat Asri Housing does not meet physical parameters (color, smell and taste) and chemical parameters pH of 6 who do not comply with Permenkes No. 32 of 2017, Berdikari Asri housing that does not meet physical parameters (color, smell and taste) and pH chemical parameters of 5 and 6 that do not meet Permenkes No. 32 of 2017, BOD of 2.448 mg/L which does not meet PP RI No. 82 of 2001 Class I criteria, Widya Graha 1 Housing which does not meet physical parameters (color, smell and taste) and chemical parameters worth 5 and 6 which do not complies with Permenkes No. 32 of 2017. The distance of shallow wells to septic tanks and latrines affects the quality of shallow well water, because distances <10 meters are not in accordance with SNI 2398-2017 resulting in shallow well water that does not meet the quality standards of Permenkes No. 32 2017 and Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No 82 of 2001.Water Quality, Sanitation, Shallow Wells
