Abstract

Occupational safety and health are important things that must be considered by the company. This is because the impact of accidents and occupational diseases is not only detrimental to workers, but also to the company itself and has the potential to affect the company's productivity. In general, occupational safety and health refers to the interaction between workers and the machines or equipment used and the work environment in the company's operational and production processes. The use of technology and various chemical raw materials has a high level of risk of causing work accidents. In addition, work accidents caused by Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used by some workers that are no longer suitable for use in doing a job. In this study, there are main problems that will be discussed, namely, the Implementation of Legal Protection in Occupational Safety and Health (K3) for workers at PT. Patra Trading, Dumai City, Based on Law No. 1 of 1970 concerning Occupational Safety and the second Inhibiting Factors in Providing Legal Protection in Occupational Safety (K3) for Workers at PT. Patra Trading, Dumai City Based on Law No. 1 of 1970 concerning Occupational Safety. So the purpose of this study is to find out the results of the formulation of the problems in this study. This legal research is a type of sociological legal research, namely direct field research to obtain research data. While the nature of this research is descriptive analysis, namely describing or providing an overview of the data obtained from the field, namely about Legal Protection in Occupational Safety and Health (K3) for workers at PT. Patra Trading, Dumai City. The results of this study concluded that the Implementation of Legal Protection in Occupational Safety and Health (K3) for workers at PT. Cahaya Intan Abadi Indonesia, Based on Law No. 1 of 1970 concerning Occupational Safety is quite good, it's just that there are several employees who experience work accidents while doing work caused by several factors, the most important factor is the element of negligence from the worker himself because he did not heed the instructions of the leader at the place where he worked. And the obstacle to Providing Legal Protection in Occupational Safety (K3) for PT. Cahaya Intan Abadi Indonesia Workers Based on Law No. 1 of 1970 concerning Occupational Safety is the lack of awareness of workers about the dangers of work carried out in using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is no longer suitable for use in carrying out work.
