Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP OF PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING METHOD AND STUDENTS’ CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY IN LEARNING FIQIH IBADAH AT MTS MUHAMMADIYAH LUBUK JAMBI IRENA MAHARANI 192410134 This study is motivated by the lack of students’ ability to draw conclusions and make simple explanations of the material that has been taugh by the teacher. In addition, the lack of students’ ability to ask and answer questions about to the material being studied. Another problem is that most students have low ability in giving arguments or opinions as well as the ability to solve problems. The problem formulation of the study is the relationship of Problem-Based Learning Method and Students’ Critical Thinking Ability (Grade VII) in learning Fiqh Ibadah at MTs Muhammadiyah Lubuk Jambi. The aim of the study is to find out: The Relationship of Problem-Based Learning Method and Students’ Critical Thinking Ability in Learning Fiqh Ibadah at MTs. Muhammadiyah Lubuk Jambi. The population and sample of the study consist of 85 students because they are less than 100, so the entire population is taken as samples. This study consists of variable X (problem-based learning method) and variable Y (critical thinking). The data correlation analysis method used is a simple regression test. Based on the results of the simple regression analysis, it shows that a significance value is less than 0.05, namely 0.000, then Ha is accepted, stating that there is a relationship between the problem-based learning method and the students’ critical thinking ability in learning Fiqh Ibadah at MTs Muhammadiyah Lubuk Jambi. The magnitude of the level of influence of the problem-based learning method between variable X and variable Y is 0.176 which is in the range 0.00-0.199 and included in the very low category. It means that the influence of the problem-based learning method on students’ critical thinking ability in learning Fiqh Ibadah at MTs Muhammadiyah Lubuk Jambi is “very low”.problem-based learning method, critical thinking
