Abstract

Kampus Mengajar program is part of Kampus Merdeka’s policy has officially issued for the Batch I on February 9, 2021. The Kampus Mengajar program provides opportunities for students to build their teacing experiences according to their talents and interest. This study aimed to find out the experiences of English Language Education FKIP UIR Students while participating in the Kampus Mengajar Program at the Elementary School. This research employed a qualitative method with phenomenology approach that consists of 4 participants of English Language Education students who join in the Kampus Mengajar Program in Batch II. The main instrument of data was an in-depth-interview that provides information or evidence related to the research. The data were analyzed by using thematic analysis developed by Braun and Clarke (2006). This research also used The Adult Learning Theory by Malcolm Knowles and Teaching Experiences Component by Hazmi (2019). The findings of this study are revealed in the learning objectives, it turns out that participants must maintain their motivation while teaching and always stick to the goals of the mbkm program. Next revealed to the teaching materials, it turned out that the participants lacked mastery of the material and media technology did not support them to innovate in the teaching and learning process because they were in rural areas. The problem of difficulty in teaching is the problem that is most often felt by the participants because some of the students are slow to grasp the lesson. LKS is the type of assignment most often given by participants to students. Furthermore, it turns out that the Kampus Mengajar is very influential for English study programs because it can improve the quality of its students which will add to their experience in teaching.
