Abstract

ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF LECTURERS’ PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE ON STUDENTS’ LEARNING MOTIVATION AT ISLAMIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY OF RIAU BY: AYU ELLYAWATI 182410048 The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of lecturers’ pedagogical competence on students’ learning motivation at Islamic education department of Islamic University of Riau. This is a quantitative correlational study. The subject of the study is the students at Islamic Education Department of Islamic University of Riau and the object of the study is the Influence of Lecturers’ Pedagogical Competence on Students’ Learning Motivation at Islamic Education Department of Islamic University of Riau. The population of the study consists of 437 students and the number of samples taken is 206 students. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis, it is found that there is an influence of Lecturers’ Pedagogical Competence on Students’ Learning Motivation at Islamic Education Department of Islamic University of Riau with a significant value of 0.000, because 0.000 <0.05 so the alternative hypothesis is accepted. The magnitude of the influence of learning motivation is 0.319 or 31.9% which is categorized as a low influence and included in the range of 0.20-0.399 in the correlation coefficient interpretation table, and the remaining 68.1% is influenced by other factors. In conclusion, the results of the study show that the students’ learning motivation is influenced by the lecturers’ pedagogical competence by 0.319 or 31.9%, while the remaining 0.681 or 68.1% is influenced by other factors. pedagogical competence, learning motivation.
