Abstract

Productive zakat is an instrument for the distribution and utilization of assets in the Islamic economic system which is not used up for daily needs, but it is used more to run the business. In order to distribute the funds properly, it is required an institution with professional and skilled people to manage them. The problem formulation of the study is how the roles of Productive Zakat Program of Pundi Zakat Indah Kiat in Improving Mustahiks’ Welfare in Pinang Sebatang Timur Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency. This is a qualitative study. To obtain the valid data, the researcher cites the sources from primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques of the study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants of the study consists of 5 people. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are 4 Roles of the Productive Zakat Program, namely (1) Zakat for Empowerment of Mustahik Income (2) Zakat for Human Resource Development (3) Zakat for Improving the Ummah's Economy (4) Zakat for maintaining the Muslim Aqidah. The results of the study show that the Roles of the Productive Zakat Program of Pundi Zakat Indah Kiat are good at improving Mustahiks’ Welfare in Pinang Sebatang Timur Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency.The Roles of the Productive Zakat Program of Pundi Zakat Indah Kiat
