Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of democratic parenting on assertive behavior mediated by adjustment in adolescents in the Bungaraya sub-district. In this study, the quantitative method was used, which is a type of research whose specifications are systematic, planned and clearly structured from the start to the creation of a research plan. From the results of this scientific work using SmartPLS 3.0 M3, the path coefficient value of the influence of democratic parenting on assertive behavior mediated by self-adjustment has a value of 0.218 and a p value of 0.015 <0.05 while the value of t count has a value of 2.448. Based on the t table, it is known that for n = 91 and k = 3, it is 1.98. From the table it is known that the value of t count is 2.448, the value of t table is 1.98. However, from the value of R Square and the value of R Square Adjusted where the magnitude of the influence is weak. Then it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted and significant. This means that there is an influence of democratic parenting on assertive behavior mediated by adjustment in adolescents in the Bungaraya sub-district. But these adjustments do not have a strong effect. For future researchers, it is hoped that they can expand on the subject of this research, and consider mediating variables that are influenced by other factors.
