Abstract

Divorce is the release of the marriage bond between a man and a woman as husband and wife, which is carried out before a court hearing, namely the District Court for Non-Muslims and the Religious Court for those who are Muslim. To carry out a divorce there must be sufficient reasons, as stated in Article 19 of Government Regulation Number. 9 of 1975 concerning the implementation of Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage. The problems in this research are as follows: First, what are the factors causing the high rate of divorce in Pekanbaru City in 2021 based on Government Regulation Number. 9 of 1975 concerning Implementation of Law Number. 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage. Second, what are the judges' efforts to reduce the divorce rate in Pekanbaru City in 2021 based on Government Regulation Number. 9 of 1975 concerning Implementation of Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage. This study uses the Sociological Legal research method (empirical) or observational (observational research) which is descriptive in nature. Analysis is research that collects data by going directly to the field. As for the factor namely disputesor quarrels, domestic violence, and the economy. The location chosen to conduct this research was at the Pekanbaru City Religious Court. The results of this study are the factors that cause the high divorce rate in Pekanbaru City in 2021 seen from several factors including factors originating from Pekanbaru Religious Court Judges, Religious Figures at the KUA Secretariat, Marpoyan Damai District, and parties who are divorced. The judge's attempt to reduce the divorce rate in Pekanbaru City in 2021 is by seeking mediation. It needs to be underlined that the task of the judge in the courtroom is to provide advice in the sense that it is only a boundary in the courtroom. the task of the judge is not to divorce, in essence it is to reconcile. by going through a series of processes in the Pekanbaru religious court.Juridical Review, Height factor, Divorce, Pekanbaru Religious Court
