Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is an act of young people that can be destructive and disturbing, both to themselves and to others. Juvenile delinquency is also a collection of various behaviors, from socially unacceptable behavior to criminal acts. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and juvenile delinquency in Pekanbaru City. The research method used in this study is quantitative with a correlation design in the form of a survey. The population in this study were all students of SMAN 14 Pekanbaru. The sample used in this study were students at SMAN 14 Pekanbaru with a total of 282 respondents who were obtained based on a purposive sampling technique. The results of this study concluded that based on the analysis of the correlation coefficient of -0.317. This shows that there is a significant relationship between family support and juvenile delinquency in Pekanbaru City where the lower the family support obtained, the higher the level of juvenile delinquency.
