Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model on the mathematical connection abilities of students at SMP Negeri 3 Gaung. The benefit of this research is to provide information and advantages in the development of knowledge for the future in the field of mathematics education, especially related to the CORE learning model and its influence on students' mathematical connection abilities. The research used is an experimental study with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. The population and sample of this study are all seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Gaung, consisting of classes VII A and VII B, using purposive sampling technique totaling 54 students. The data collection instrument is a test in the form of pretest-posttest questions. The indicators used in this study are 3, which include; 1) The ability to connect between mathematics topics; 2) The ability to connect between mathematics topics and other fields of study; 3) The ability to connect in everyday life. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis using the Independent sample t-Test. There is a difference in the average pretest scores of the control class, which is 23.15, and the experimental class, which is 20.68, and a difference in the average posttest scores of the experimental class, which is 72.22, and the control class, which is 53.39. Based on the research results, the Independent sample t-Test showed an Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value <
