Abstract

The rapid development of technology has led to an increasing demand for laptops, whether for education, work, or entertainment purposes. The wide variety of brands, prices, specifications, and designs often makes it difficult for prospective buyers to choose a laptop that best suits their needs and preferences. This study aims to develop a laptop recommendation system using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. AHP is chosen because it can handle multi-criteria decision-making problems by comparing alternatives in pairs based on the relative importance of each criterion. The criteria used in this study include price, specifications, design, and battery life. The developed system helps users determine the priority of each criterion, then calculates the weight of each laptop alternative to produce the most suitable recommendation. Testing results show that the recommendation system is able to provide laptop suggestions that align with user preferences with a valid level of consistency in assessment (Consistency Ratio < 0.1). Therefore, this recommendation system can be an effective solution for users to make objective and accurate laptop choices.
