Abstract

Use of Fruity Loops Music Software In the Troya Band Music Show Hari Setiawan NPM 146710743 Principal Advisor Supervising Counselor Dr. Hj. Tengku Ritawati., S.Sn., M.Pd Ali Darsono, S.Pd., M.Pd NIDN. 1023026901 NIDN. 1024108401 ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the use of music software (fruity loops) in musical performances (Troya Band). Troya Band's music genre is alternative pop, in which every performance always uses fruity loops software for reasons for the number of personnel and instrument layers. Fruity Loops is a digital audio-based music application that uses graphic symbols that are based on sequencer-based music patterns. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method with qualitative data. Data collection techniques carried out by observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that the process of using fruity loops software in a Troya music performance is done in several stages, namely, 1)The instrument preparation stage is a laptop, audio interface/sound card along with a converter cable, DI box (Direct Input box), mini mixer, jumper jack cable, IEM (In-Ear Monitor), and adapter. 2) The stage of the Troya Band sequencer music preparation process is opening fruity loops software, inserting one sample sequencer of the song that will be played in a musical performance, knowing the tempo of the sample sequencer, duplicating the sound of the metronome/click, writing notation on the piano roll, editing each tracking channel on the mixer, the balancing process on the master volume. 3) The process of using the fruity loops software in the Troya Band music performance is to make sure all the steps that have been taken previously are going well, connecting the audio interface/sound card to the laptop.
