Abstract

The existence of the industrial sector in residential areas can be a driving force for the local community's economy, but the existence of the industrial sector does not always have a positive impact, but has a negative impact on the surrounding community. Alai Village is a village located in the sago industrial area, the presence of industry in the village has an impact on the condition of settlement infrastructure. This study aims to determine the impact of the existence of the sago industry on residential infrastructure in Alai Village by conducting direct observations in the field using mixed methods (qualitative-quantitative) and analysis using the weighting analysis method. From the results of the study, it was found that the existence of the sago industry in Alai Village greatly affected the condition of the urban settlement infrastructure, including the establishment of the industry. The condition of drainage and garbage also makes the condition of the village worse as evidenced by the garbage thrown into the river, causing the flow to overflow and causing flooding that hit some points of residents' houses when the rainy season comes. unavailability of clean water, and no improvement in waste management.
