Abstract

The Influence of Using the "Infopku" Instagram Account on Fulfilling Information Needs for Followers Wulan Sri Handayani 169110153 This study aims to measure how much influence the use of the “infopku� Instagram account has on fulfilling information needs followers'. This study uses the theory uses and gratification that focuses on the use (uses) the media to get satisfaction (gratification) so as to need someone to get some information. The method used in this research is explanative quantitative method. The number of samples in this study were 100 respondents who were followers of the Instagram "Infopku" account, which were obtained using probability sampling techniques. This study shows the results that the “infopku� Instagram account has a significant effect on fulfilling information needs followers'. The results showed that the use of the “infopku� Instagram account had the highest score on the frequency indicator of 2.81 or in the good category. Fulfillment of information needs which have the highest score on the indicator current need approach of 3.27 or very good category. After processing the data, it produces a value of 0.596 which indicates a positive r value. The percentage of the influence of using the “infopku� Instagram account on the fulfillment of information needs for followers is 35.5% and the remaining 64.5% is influenced by other factors not discussed in this study. In testing the hypothesis, it was found that the use of the Instagram “infopku� account had an effect on fulfilling the information needs of followers.
