Abstract

ABSTRACT PARENT INVOLVEMENT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN’S BEGINNING READING LITERACY AT KINDEGARTEN A YLPI MARPOYAN PEKANBARU BY: MAGFIRAH NPM : 172510065 The purpose in this research examined to know parents’ involvement in children’s beginning reading literation development at kindergarten a YPLI Marpoyan Pekanbaru. This research method used descriptive with qualitative approach. Data analysis conducted through three phases: data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusion. The subject in this research involved 6 students, 5 parents of kindergarten A YLPI Marpoyan Pekanbaru as main informants and 1 informant as a supported informant that was homeroom teacher at kindergarten A YLPI Marpoyan pekanbaru. This research finding showed that parents’ involvement in children’s beginning reading literation development had an important role in supporting children’s beginning reading literation, and parents at kindergarten A YLPI Marpoyan Pekanbaru had been involved in children’s beginning reading literation at home. The parents’ effort such as starting reading, picture introduction, connecting dots to be a letter. Introduce latter to children, and playing about letter with children.
