Abstract
This study aims to measure smartphone addiction in boys and girls in the city of Pekanbaru with a population of 563,242 adolescents, and a total sample size of 100 people. This study used accidental sampling technique, as for collecting the data using a scale of 10 items for the smartphone addiction scale and used the Independent Sample t-test for the data analysis. The results of the analysis test have shown that there are a difference in Smartphone addiction among boys and girls where there is a t value (0.878) and a p value of 0.046 (p <0.05). This shows that there are a difference in Smartphone addiction among boys and girls, which means that Adolescent Female tend to have a higher addiction to smartphone than Adolescent Male although it is not quite significant.
