Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of arm muscle explosive power to the results of a long badminton game service for the 2013/2014 class of students at the Penjaskesrek FKIP Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru. This type of research is correlation research. The population in this study was 2013/2014 Class of Student Education and Teaching Study Program FKIP Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru University, amounting to 15 people. The sampling technique uses total sampling so the researchers made a sample of 15 students. This research instrument uses a test rejecting the medicine ball and a badminton long service test. Based on the calculation results, the calculated r value is 0.543. the value is greater than r table at df = 13 which is 0.514. The coefficient of determination calculation is 29.4%. The conclusion in this study is that there is an explosive power contribution of the arm muscle to the results of a long badminton game service in the 2013/2014 class of students at the Penjaskesrek FKIP Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru by 29.4%.
