Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the students' motivation in participating in the Penjaskesrekrek learning on the basketball material at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. This type of research uses descriptive quantitative research population point in this study amounted to 75 students of Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru junior high school. The research instrument used a valid item 59 questionnaire, Likert scale, and data analysis with percentage techniques. The results of this study indicate that the motivation of Class VIII students in participating in physical education activities in basketball material at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. In the sub-indicators there is a desire for success that is 73,4%, there are encouragement and needs in learning 75,2%, there are hopes and ideals of the future 75,6%, There is an award in learning 79%, There Are Interesting Activities In Learning 81%, The existence of a conducive learning environment 86%. It can be concluded that students' motivation in participating in physical education learning on basketball material in SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru reaches a percentage of 77% including in the category of strong.
